Fitness Challenge: Handstand, headstand or crow pose challenge
I have definitely had the most fun with this challenge! When trying this challenge, most people say they have a fear of falling over or their arms giving out under their body weight. However, in practice, these same people have been able to overcome their fears and go inverted! Once you realize your fears are small compared to the payoff, it really is life changing.
Handstand: Attempt 5 handstands using a wall for support. Record how well you do from last week!
Headstand: Work on balancing in the inverted position. When straightening your legs overhead, it's helpful to record yourself so you can see how your body is moving! You want to keep everything in line as much as possible for optimum balance.
Crow pose: Get to 30 seconds holding crow pose.
Lifestyle Challenge: Cook something new!
Next time you go to the store, try picking up a new food to try! This week, I tried baking plantains and it was the BEST decision ever! (Recipe here)
Mindfulness Challenge: Don't Argue With Anyone
Ever notice how the food you eat can also influence your mood? Not only should we try to control our tempers, but also be mindful about our emotional reactions to food.
However, ther's also a dark side to food. High amounts of caffeine can cause anxiety, sugar and carbs can make you sleepy (food coma), and even the pesticides used on fruits and veggies can cause headaches!
Nutrition Challenge: Double veggie intake
This can be as simple as replacing your morning and afternoon snack with an apple, celery, broccoli, or salad!
