Action items for Thursday, April 30th:
Movie: The Princess Bride
Fitness Challenge: Handstand, headstand or crow pose challenge
We are back to our headstand challenge! By far, this was the most requested challenge of the transformation!
Inversions are overlooked in the fitness world, but they are one of the best core strengthening exercises out there! For tips, check out our Week 1 Day 4 post!
Handstand: Attempt 5 handstands using a wall for support. Record how well you do from last week!
Headstand: Work on balancing in the inverted position. When straightening your legs overhead, it's helpful to record yourself so you can see how your body is moving! You want to keep everything in line as much as possible for optimum balance.
Crow pose: Get to 30 seconds holding crow pose.
Lifestyle Challenge: Cook something new!
I just picked up some apples and craisins at the store yesterday so I can try this easy waldorf salad with only 5 ingredients!
Mindfulness Challenge: Don't Argue With Anyone
This week, I am going to take this a step further and say 'don't lose your shit'. Like most of us, this week marks 8 weeks in quarantine. With my kids. As the only adult. Needless to say, we're all getting a little testy with each other! I find myself getting irritated, but need to remind myself that:
1. She's 2 years old
2. She doesn't give a shit about "keeping the house tidy"
3. She is ALSO in quarantine and dealing with her new lifestyle.
It's easy to forget that quarantine effects children just as much as the adults! They are still just kids. Today, my challenge is both not to argue as well as to remind myself to take a breath.
Nutrition Challenge: Double veggie intake
This can be as simple as replacing your morning and afternoon snack with an apple, celery, broccoli, or salad! (How about that waldorf salad??)
